So I'm on my way to Oz! The first big stage of my trip is over and the next big stage is about to begin.
Nepal and the Himalayas were amazing, beautiful and certainly unforgettable. The people, the culture, the environment, and of course the scenery. I enjoyed every second. This small, relatively unknown country has so much to offer for all kinds of travellers and if I knew how diverse it was I definitely would have stayed longer! The people I shared my time in Nepal with made it as enjoyable as it could have been! Not only the 14 others in my group, but the Nepalese people as well! They really showed us their culture and were so welcoming, as it always seams to be with those less fortunate! I cannot express in words how much I enjoyed my time there, and if I'm fortunate enough, would love to go back one day! You only have to see the pictures to understand...
Bangkok was a different story. No beautiful landscapes to wake up to, only the noise of a passing train and the dense humidity. I was over excited about my hotel, hoping for two nights of relative luxury, but it never came. Was nice to have my own time for a while, but I didn't have to go to Bangkok for that! The history and culture on the other hand was great. The craftsmanship and skill needed to build what are now Bangkok's landmarks are unmeasurable, but sadly the same level of skill was absent in their care and customer service.
I don't think my conclusion is a fair one though as I only spent a couple of nights in Bangkok. I'm sure if I traveled Thailand more extensively I would find many more things I really enjoyed... Not just the fantastic street food! Although I can only convey the impressions I'm left with!
