Tower of London

I don't think we could have packed more into our day!

We started by going to see the Tower of London, which was well worth the 20£ and is a good 3 hours to take it all in. The coolest thing about London is you have this modern city with skyscrapers and glass buildings and right beside it you will have a church or castle that is centuries old! There is so much history at the Tower of London...wars, peasant revolts, attempts to over throw the throne and of course the prisoners who were beheaded there and up the hill.

We did a tour and learned about all the people that lived and died right there, including Anne Bolyn.

The Tower of London is also house to the Crown Jewels. They almost look fake with so many large colored stones and diamonds.

Today was some sort of historical 'tax day' and the British Guard came from their boats into the Tower and ceremonial pay their taxes. It was quite the ceremony and they had the marching band play the theme from Game of Thrones! Made me feel a bit better as everything we were hearing about I was comparing to the show anyway.... 'That's like how they put Ned Stark's head in a spike!' Seriously though they would behead someone pop their head on a spike parade it through the city and the London Bridge was lined with them as a warning to others...
