Paris July 3-5
After a bit of a whirl wind day in Rome we headed off to Paris. Paris HUGE and really hard to get around via a map. The city has a million little streets that last for a block or so all have different names and seem to randomly dump into other streets. I guess that is why everyone tells you about the joy of getting lost in Paris... It's going to happen so you might as well find a way to enjoy it...
We did the hop on hop off and saw the main sites, took pics and got a feel for the different areas. We had amazing crepes for breakfast and I ate a cheese plate and a bottle of wine for dinner...
We attempted to the Louvre as it was pouring rain! It was very overwhelming and apparently there was an app to download and do a tour but we missed that sign until we wandered around for 2 hours. Jas was excited to see the Mona Lisa and I saw a few of the Greek and Roman statues that I think are cool.
We walked across the Pont d'art and bought a lock to attach to the bridge and threw the key in the river... Lol when in the city of love...
Actually ate an AMAZING burger before doing a night boat cruise and a city at night bus tour. We sat in a park and waited for the Eiffel Tower to do its hourly sparkle and managed to prop the cams meta up and get some good shots.
We headed up to the Sacred Heart church on Mount Montare which was really cool in a neat area of town (near the Moulin Rouge). Might go back on our last night and have dinner in the area sooo many cafe etc.
Overall thoughts on Paris... I liked it, people were nice and patient as you fumbled your way through whatever French you know, most speak some English. It does take some time to get your bearings and it is a big city. Jas didn't like it but I liked it more than London but a lot less than Berlin.
Off to Normandy for 2 days, one last night in Paris and home!
