Sorry I still haven't uploaded anymore photos, I will!
So, from Ubud it was to Kuta... Very built up and touristy but a fun place, where the nightlife was certainly interesting!! Unfortunately we were there during the rainy season, and although it didn't rain it meant that the beach was full of rubbish that had been washed up. So it wasn't very special at all. Instead though, we hired a motorbike and found some spectacular sights and beaches further down the coast.
From Bali it was back to Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, for 1 night before reyturning again to Bangkok, for Chridtmas!! This was great fun! Parties at the hostel, cocktails on the roof of posh hotels, lunch in the Siam shopping malls, western style! And of course the nights were spent on Khao San rd! Buckets anyone?!
Christmas was strange though, my first one spent away from home and in the heat and sun?! definitely something I wasn't used to!
On 26th December I flew back to Kuala Lumpur for a 6 hour wait before flying to Melbourne, where I met friends who I had met previously traveling, for the day, before flying to Sydney.
That is where I have been for the last 3 weeks. The place is fantastic, always something to do, and it is great to catch up with family friends here. As well as lots of previous traveling friends who all seem to congregate in Sydney for new year... So it was a fantastic new year, lots of friends, reunited! For a long day of drinking (you needed to get to a good spot early in order to secure the view for the fireworks), so we spent from about 11am until 3am drinking! The fireworks were the best I have ever seen though, so definitely worth the long day!
I have also been wine tasting in the hunter valley, I went to the tennis international in Sydney, and I have been exploring the bars and beaches!!
The plan is to stay here until early feb and then travel more of the east coast before returning to Melbourne for a couple of weeks, fun fun fun!!
Love to all x
