so our first day in thailand and we got up at 9..but gem had been awake half the night hiding under her covers from bugs because she paranoid. although she didnt get biten. wehad breakfast at the hotel which was really good and it consisted of pancakes, yogurt, toast, melon, rice, chicken was in there somewhere.. egg station. random but good! oh and they had beans and fried potatoes but no kechup which charlywas NOT impressed about!.

then we set off equipt with a map given to us at the hotel and began looking around when a really nice thai lady started talking to us and gaveus loads of helpful tips and advice about all the temples.. and it turned out to be a national holiday so everywhere was free and the tuk tuk for the whole day was only 10TBH each which is like 20p and the guy drove us everywhere! the thai lady also found it hilliarious of how white we were! the first temple was the standing budha which was like 45m tall and gold and there was loads of really religious people praying at the bottom. and you could also buy a cage of birds to release at the bottom for luck! so we are now very lucky.. although charly broke a mirror on the journey so we are now even with the gods!

after that was the lucky budha who happened to be sitting. when we got there we walked through a school and in the temple was this thai man who was a teacher at the school and he taught us how to pray and then told us all about bangkok.. and we had some photos of the place. and then when we walked outside a class of children had gathered to greet us and they sang to us and we signed there books which was cool! then we went to the budha on a mount which was really scenic and we climbed to the top! and it reminded us of the jungle book so we were singing 'king of the swingers' for the entire way..and like half way up we stopped for a nikon moment and charly got royally distracted by a squirrel.. just a regular squirrel. and we got some really good ice lollys at the top.

after that we decided to go for a stroll and went to the park to chill out but we got super lost because of charlys s*** as nagivational skills.. and it was super hot all day! like walk around in your underwear hot (if only it were socially expectable!) we decided to walk back to the hotel which, was we found the right road was quite easy!

we had a good english dinner of pag bol.. well thats italian but close enough! and we got kechup!! yay!! and then got a good nights sleep..

all in all a very good first day!!
