Neighbours tour!! Woohoo!! We went into the city around midday and I had some very tasty,very cheap sushi to energize me for what would be a very exciting afternoon. On the way to the Ramsey Street (actually called PinOak Court), Erinsborough (actually called Vermont. Erinsborough is called such as it is an anagram of neighbours....nearly!) we had lots of old neighbours episodes playing. First stop was the school, actually an English school for non-english students, but we had the Erinsborough School sign provided to recreate the look. After lots of photos we moved onto the studios. These are still unfortunately out of bounds for security reasons,however they hope in the next year to include it in the tour. As they were filming in the studio today we waited by the entrance to catch any familiar faces. Although we saw a few by the doors,noone near enough to talk to or photograph. Then finally we visited Ramsey Street. My first thought was how TINY it is!!It is a short road with about six houses in a semicircle at the end.Our guide explained how the film crew manage to create the impression of it being bigger than it is,and either they are very clever,or we are easily fooled.I shall never look at Ramsey Street in the same light again...! This evening,after watching Neighbours of course, we went out to a bar with Michelle,her boyfriend and friends to eat and play pool. In oz they have rules where instead of taking turns playing on the table,if you want to play you challenge the people playing to doubles.If they win they stay on til they are challenged again,if you win it's your turn....lots of fun! Tomorrow Melbourne zoo, apparently world famous, and then to see Tripod, and Oz comedy act, in the Melbourne Comedy Festival in the evening. Lots of love xxxxx
