Danielle Oh Charlotte, I'm so proud of you!!! I understand entirely where you're coming from on the reason for the home-sickness part... I think I had a little tear when leaving the Serengeti because I just wished everyone could have seen it too!! But although you're not sharing with people from home you are making some amazing memories with people you never would have met...and that'll make the experiences (and the new friendships) so much more intense! So happy that you have met someone you really click with...you will have an absolute BALL in Uganda, I am supremely jealous!!! The rafting is unbeleivable... I can tell you now that I the pineapple you munch on down the Nile will be the best piece of fruit you've ever had in your life!!! And don't you DARE bail out of the Washing Machine!!! Also, please buy the DVD whatever you do... it will be my little treat from me to you so please get it!! Abseiling in Sipi is less of a 'company' and more of a little outfit that has been trained up by a New Zealand adventure company... but it's perfectly fine... when you get to Crow's Nest ask for a guided walk...it's just someone from the hotel who will do it for you (ask if Moses is around...show him my picture and see if he remembers me!! hahaha - doubtful!) and then at the top of the third waterfall you can choose to abseil or not (you better had though!!!) ...if you see anyone selling fruit on the way round BUY IT! Best fruit EVER and you'll get the most incredible juice made when you get back to Crow's Nest. God, I literally can't beleive you're going to be in all these places....it's insane to me!!!! Don't even THINK of rushing the time away, you will spend every minute in England wishing you were back in Africa, under those beautiful, beautiful stars.....I can't wait to see you though and hear it all first hand! Make the absolute most of it. Sounds like you are doing brilliant work in the village on a really sustainable project too... can't wait to hear all about it. So much love, stay safe and have the time of your LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nakupenda sana xxxxx
Sophie Sounds amazing Charlotte. I'm jealous. I know what you mean about feeling strange about having amazing memories but nobody to share it with, but these things will stay with you forever and will map out the person you become and the life you lead. Just try and embrace everything you do, even the sucky stuff - life experiences and all that - god I'm sounding really deep, ha ha. Keep having fun. Lots of love xxx

Anne-Marie Won't tell you what we are just going to eat Charlotte! Been Sally's birthday weekend and we have had a fun night at Ricos in Poulton. Alex is home now for good and looking for a job - not easy! Raining and miserable here today - enjoy the African sunshine! Sister Act is coming to Manchester in Sept and we have just booked tickets. Hope you don't have to share your room and, more importantly, the compost toilet!! Love from us all. Anne-Marie xx
Anna Hi Charlotte, it sounds like you've got lots going on and Simon says you're off on a break so have a great time! I noticed you've been posting photos and was wondering if you could take one for me when you get a chance? I was presenting at a school earlier in the week who want to pay for the salary of two nursery school teachers in the village and i was hoping to send them a photo of some of the nursery kids with two of their teachers - no hurry at all as if you weren't able to do it I was planning to ask Jeremy to take one when he is out there in August. Keep enjoying it and keep posting updates, it's great to hear all about it. Anna x

re: Kitui, KenyaAnne-Marie Hope you get to Uganda, what a great opportunity and with such a good friend. Can understand you wanting someone with you to share experiences. However, make the most of your time there; the time will fly by now you are at the half way point and before you know it, you will be home. It must be a series of ups and downs when you are dealing with people living in such heartbreaking situations but your beautiful smile will bring joy to their lives. All well here and Jasper puppy is growing fast and is a maniac but so sweet! Lots of love AM x
