The internet connections are pretty terrible in this part of the world so photos are going to have to wait...At the moment i am in Sucre, bolivia. Thought we were catching a bus at 7am this morning to head to La Paz but turns out its at 7pm so we have a bit of time to spare.

so...in Mendoza we went on a winery tour, which included a tour of 2 wineries (1 traditional, 1 a bit more industrial) an olive oil making place and a little place that made liquors and sweets etc. Lots of free wine/olive oil/liquor/chocolate testing! Then from mendoza we got the bus to Salta. From there we did a tour to a town called Cafayate. We had a guide drive us and 2 other english girls to Cafayate which is a few hours from Salta but the main appeal of the tour is the drive there, through gorges and desert. Amazing scenery. From salta we headed north to Tilcara, which is a little town with some inca ruins. We spent a day visiting a couple of nearby towns which also had some great views, theyre high up in the mountains.

After that we went to La Quiaca which is the town you go through to cross the border into Bolivia. The border crossing was easy and we spent that night in the town over the border on the bolivian side. From there we got the train north to Uyuni. Nice change from the bus. Then straight on the bus the next morning to Sucre. So feels like weve spent alot of time sitting on the bus the last week or so. Yesterday we took a little tour out to a nearby site that has some well preserved dinosaur tracks and a little dinosaur park. Going to have a little look around the churches etc here if theyre open this afternoon, get some food and then spend the night on the bus. Hopefully well have a few days in La Paz to do some things before getting yet another bus. We have booked our train to machu picchu for the 3rd i think so were trying to get used to the altitude gradually before then.

I think once we start heading south again the internet should be better so can update again and maybe get some photos up....
