Week 16- Australia (Melbourne) Day 6
We decided to have a bit of a chill out day today ready for our adventure on the Great Ocean Road. We were both really excited and wanted to be full of energy! We spent the morning lazing around and packing our little rucksacks for our trip. Max had also given us a load of camping equipment to take with us which was really helpful! We washed our clothes and got them dried so we at least started the trip clean...
Another one of Gemma's friends from home is working in Melbourne so we went and visited her for a hot chocolate down by the seafront. We nearly couldn't go because the heavens opened but luckily it stopped just in time. It was cool to hear her stories and nice for Gemma to have a catch up! We then walked back to Maxine's which took about 45 minutes.
Seeing as it was our last night at Max and Brian's house we planned to go for dinner as a farewell (and we secretly planned to pay to say thank you). So after a bit of glamming up (first time in forever) we headed into Melbourne. First we went to the casino which was very fancy and had lots of posh shops in etc. We walked down the riverfront as on the hour the pillars fire out balls of fire. That was quite cool to watch although it only lasted about a minute. After lots of debates and A LOT of walking we ended up the other side of the river in an Italian. The food was delicious and we enjoyed a bottle of wine! It was a great way to end of our time with Max and Bryan.
