right...where are we up to? ok first of all let's get the important things out of the way...
toni...the beard is going very strong and i'm even more determined to grow it because i now know how much you love it! john...sorry but we probably have 10,000 pictures of africa alone so we're looking at a little more than that with months to go. you're just going to have to line the beers up and pin your eyes open through the 4 hour slideshow...
ok...angkor wat was great to see! we missed sunrise because we had a strange tuk-tuk driver who was hungover and later threatened to kill me, but we saw the three main temples and they were really impressive! the rest of our time was fantastic in siem reap! really friendly people, cool bars, awesome food...easily one of our favourite places. we also went to a lively night market and had a fish massage which was the strangest thing i've ever done. basically you put you feet in a pool of small fish and scream for 10 minutes because it tickles so much...great fun...pictures to follow.
we then caught another 'VIP' bus and headed for phomn penh in cambodia. phomn penh was strange...first of all we hated it because it was full of rubbish...literally all over the floor. the roads were crazy, there were no pavements and did i mention it was smelly? but when we gave it a bit of time (i had to force charlie) we grew to like it. we found a really nice hotel and started to appreciate the city because it wasn't very 'touristy' which makes a change. we again had some great food and visted some cool places (the main temples, the palace, and s21...a prison used during pol pot's reign which was shocking but really interesting). we also had our anniversary in phomn penh which was a great day. we ended up going to a club called the heart of darkness with a canadian and a russian. we can tell you now because we survived but there is a group on facebook called...'i went to the heart of darkness and survived'...enough said. it was brilliant! anyway we ended phomn penh both being ill which charlie refused to associate with the night out!
we are now in ho chi minh (saigon), vietnam. ho chi minh is AMAZING! it's my favourite place so far and charlie would probably say the same. we have a great hotel and it's just a fantastic city. we're off to a water park tomorrow (wooooo) and i'll let charlie tell you how that went in the next blog!
i'm going to go now because charlie is shouting at me for boring people. love to everyone! xxxx
ps. i was camping in africa, you are not meant to wash.....i am now washing daily x
