Fiji... our last stop on our tour. We flew into Nadi, to find the airline had lost Charlie's luggage so was all panic stations. However, the next morning we quickly stopped off in town to kit Charlie out in some gear, then straight onto the boat to the Island -Robinson Cruscoe. There is only one resort on the island and it is like being on the Shipwrecked show. The people on the island were great. We watched some traditional Fiji dance, watched the locals climb cocunet trees, then got them to make us bracelets out of the cocunuts,. The evening was spent socialising with our new chums, and taking part in the welcoming ceremony, which consisted of drinking Cava, a tradional Fiji drink (which tastesd like dirty dish water) but was great to get involved. The following day we decided to tag along to the fishing...not the rods and bait we expected but nets and spears. We caught about 80 little fish which we had to pick out from the net, which of course the two of us found petrifying at first, whilst trying to avoid the sea snakes!!! When we arrived back the staff cooked the fish we caught and made for a great afternoon snack. The showering facilities on the island were interesting.... just one bucket per day allowed... very funny!!!
We tried some fresh cocunet milk too which is great- we really settled into island life, as well as enjoying a professional massage- although getting increasingly fed up of the sand everywhere!
And now it is the end of oUr trip. Safely can say we have had the time of our lives and a little reluctant to come home!!!! It's been great and I am sure it is not the end of our travels. Love always xxxxxxxxxxxxx
