We had a mad day traveling from Malaysia over the border into Thailand and eventually arrived in Krabi that evening. The next morning we got on a boat to Koh Phi Phi where we spent 5 nights. Went over to Phi Phi Lay where the film 'The Beach' was filmed and is the most beautiful place ever! Spent most of the time sunbathing and going out, quite a lot of the time to a bar where there was Thai boxing that was really cool, and after the Thai men anyone could get up and have a fight with their friend!
We then spent 1 night on Koh Lanta which was Maz's birthday. The island was really pretty but it was very quiet so we decided to leave the next dayfor another long day of traveling, heading for Koh Phan-gan. We stayed in lovely bungalows right on the beach that was really chilled out and everyone sat in in hammocks or on cushions watching the world go by. The next night was the Black Moon Party which we managed to arrive at at 1am and after an hour had to make a quick exit to the Doctors when Char managed to get stung by a centipede!! It hurt like hell, but was really quite funny looking back on, especially the doctor trying to prise the bucket out of her hands!! Had another 2 nights there over on Hat Rin (where the Full Moon Party is held) chilling out on the beach.
We then went up to Koh Tao where we met up with friends we had met in New Zealand. We spent 1 day on a boat trip snorkelling around various sights and we saw loads of fish and even a little reef shark! Spent a couple of nights drinking along the beach where 1 bar had amazing fire shows. After 3 nights we moved on to our last island, Koh Samui which although we had been told to avoid, we had fun there. One day we went to see some waterfalls which were pretty and Maz fell off a rock which was well funny!!
Another mental day of buses, boats and more buses got us up to Bangkok at 6.30am. Had a power nap and spent pretty much all day shopping on Khao San Road (the main backpacker areas) which we were loving!! The following day we were up early to go and see a Floating Market, the Bridge over the River Kwai and a Tiger Temple we all got to have pictures taken stroking these enormous tigers! Also saw the Big Buddha, the Reclining Buddha and The Grand Palace.
