I've discovered that I am really slack at taking photos, sorry :-)
Rachelle officially lost her mind today, I have forbidden her to ever travel alone as she seems to become quite disorientated, clumsy and "off with the fairies"! :-)
It's probably partly my fault, I have dragged her to every corner of Paris in the last day and a half.
She asked me if the rest of the trip will be like this, I told her no. The truth is it doesn't get any less physically taxing, but hopefully we get fitter.
So today, Rachelle woke early, we decided to seize the opportunity and head somewhere splendid to watch the sun rise. First stop was the Champs Élysées, we walked to the Arc de Triumph. The sun refused to wake from its slumber so we headed to the Bastille, or at least what was the Bastille. The once famous prison was demolished and there is now a giant column on a roundabout which is for remembrance of the lives lost during the revolution.
From there we found ourselves at the centre G. Pompidou where the insides of the building are on the out.
A short walk got us to the Hotel de Ville, Tower of St Jacques before hitting the Notre Dame.
It was a mission to find the Concierge, we ended up at the building for justice being eyeballed by some crazy criminal. SCARY!
After a fun packed morning of taking in all the beautiful sights and serial killers that Paris has to offer we headed back to the Eiffel Tower for the 3rd time (once just simply isn't enough) in the last day, this time we took the 300+ stairs up to see the spectacular views on offer. It was amazing to see that we had managed to frequent all the top tourist spots already. The only one that eludes us is the Louvre, we plan on taking in as much as our eyes can handle of the 14.5km of exhibits it has to offer tomorrow.
So for now it's a quick, but much needed siesta before getting ourselves beautiful and heading to the Moulin Rouge.
It's days like today that make me promise my body that at some point in the future I'll have a relaxing holiday full of doing nothing... There has to be a first time for everything right?!? :-)
