Sydney to Vegas baby...
(So this is the start of Chad and Edwina's travel blog for their trip from Alaska to Argentina and everything in between! We will try and alternate who writes the details of our adventures, but it might depend on who is sober enough to string some sentences together at the time!)
Flights with qantas on the A380 to LA was how I expected to be, very comfortable, smooth and quiet. Arrived in LA and it was a very easy airport, working in the travel industry everyone warns you that LA is a very bad airport, maybe I was lucky. Our first stop vegas... Amelia and Brad with us. Arrived in Vegas and checked in to our hotel, planet hollywood - first things first, margarita slushy's while we walk old Vegas town. First day was just to settle in and enjoy the bright lights, and that we did. Next day we enjoyed some shopping and a cirque de soleil show. Chad brought his camera and we got busted, the camera was taken off us, but later returned. Dabbled in a bit of the old Vegas fun in the likes of treasure island, bellagio, planet Hollywood, Caesars etc.
Early morning start to do our helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. Peter was our pilot and he did a great job, as the sun was rising we took off and flew over the Hoover Dam and landed in the middle of the canyon and drank champagne and had a lovely little picnic. After a day of moseying around the casinos we spent the afternoon by the pool at the marquee pool party @ the cosmopolitan, which looked like the setting for a rap film clip - very cool, but think we were a day late as it was quiet on the monday. Then we headed down town away from the strip. what a big surprise this was... So much colour and so much cheaper. Definite recommendation, head down town for the extra fun! Vegas was good to us and the casino's only took about $20 off us, although we were not the bravest gamblers and only stuck to the machines. The next morning we headed out to the airport, for our next stop... Seattle to meet the rest of the fam.
