After having a relax in the rainforest we decided it was time to have fun! We stayed for a week in the infamous hostel Gilligans which is known for being the party hostel of the East Coast. We stayed in room 217 and managed to make the room famous with members Curtis (scouser), Lauren and Sian (Essex girls), Canada (from Montana) and of course Bruce Lee (the ufc korean).
We had an amazing week, usually only managing to get out of bed for the evening to go out seeing as our room was above the hostel nightclub (the bass was so heavy it vibrated the beds!). We couldn't stop laughing thanks to Curtis and Bruce and couldn't always remember everything :P.
The last night in Cairns we joined the Ultimate Toga Party tour which was the best night we had. None of the lads could make togas except for Sam who'd had a bit of practice in Sheffield thanks to Giddy! It took them at least an hour. After a pre party goon train we all jumped on the party bus for a night of heavy drinking and free pizza in the clubs of Cairns!
Earlier in the day we did our dreaded Bungy Jumps! We woke up at stupid o clock in the morning because we were both so nervous and the bungy bus finally arrived at 11am. The driver gave us a little pep talk along with the other 6 very quiet people before getting off at the site. The platform didn't look too high from the bottom (said by Cerys) which of course was spoken wayyyy too soon! We both got our 'boarding passes' and went straight up because we didn't want to hesitate. I went first and jumped straight off not helping Cerys' nerves at all. But Cerys followed me with nooo problem! :D We were both buzzing after and Cerys went back up to do her second straight away! On her second she went backwards (Can you believe this is the same girl who wouldn't even consider a skydive!). After the guys kept on scaring her, Cerys was finally dropped backwards and got dunked up to her waist! And yes the first words were "i've got to wash my hair again now!" On my second I did a roof jump which is running and jumping off the roof of the platform and it was by far worse than the first before I jumped.
All this was on the last day in Cairns as we were flying to Brisbane the next
Hope all are well at home!! xxxxx
