Ceri's Big Adventure!
Hiya everyone!!
We are in Kuta now getting ready to fly out and on to New Zealand, Sorry it has been such a long time!!
I am now feeling much better you\'ll be glad to know, apparently I was suffering from Bali belly! I was only sick overnight but the pains lasted for days after didnt eat for ages but its ok I am back on track now catching up!!
Since I was last online in Ubud we have done loads.
Ubud was really nice, the shops were gorgeous you could spend a fortune, well you could try and spend a fortune everything is soo cheap!
We went on a silver smith course in Ubud which was really good, it lasted 3 hours and I actually made my own ring which surprisingly is really nice. It was quite simple to do but a bit fiddely. After the silver smith course we left on a shuttle bus to Padang Bai.
PADANG BAI
This is like a tiny fishing village not too different to Appledore stayed just off the beach in little loft house things, downstairs was a chill out area with stairs up through a loft hatch to our bedroom and a little balcony, but the toilet and shower were outside cold water!! its not too cold when your in! All of this for 80000 Rupiah for three people, thats about 5pounds a night for three inc breakfast!
The place itself has a beautiful beach with blue waters, we found a tiny beach down a cliff called blue lagoon beach, here we went snorkelling which was my first time, it was a bit scary to begin with but once I was in there was hundreds of fish, it was like swimming in a huge tropical fish tank but with a few more fish than the Beavers! the fish were quite big too and really lovely colours!
on the main beach was a few reggae bars which were really cool at night, they got quite busy, you could sit there while the sun went down. This definatly my favourite place!
We only stayed for 2 nights here then moved on to Sanur.
SANUR
This place is full of OAPs! and is the most expensive place we have been, to be fair though if you compare the prices to english prices no where is expensive. Sanur has a really long beach with posh hotels streched right along it, the beach is ok but not as nice as Kuta or Padang Bai, we stayed here for 2 nights but didnt really get up to much as we managed to get some sunny days so we sat on the beach!
KUTA
Back in KUTA- JUST DOWN THE BEACH FROM legian the first place we stayed, I am actually really liking it here now I hated it when we first came 2 weeks ago but now I have got over the shock and got used to the people I would definatly come back if I had the chance.
We have done lots of shopping here this time. And yesterday Anna and I had a surf lesson, Claire didnt fancy it, it was really good although I am aching now. We both managed to stand up a few times!!! Think I will be trying it again when we get to Austrailia!! Got to go now and get ready for our flight, hope everyone is well!!!
