Day 16 of our European Adventure
Today we were able to sleep in a little since we had agreed to meet Carol & Rob by the sagrada familia at 9:30! We were going to call them last night however we realized we didn't even know their last names! But we had agreed to meet them before we got off the boat at this place & we also had received an email from Carol while we were in Barcelona so we proceeded to our meeting place after enjoying a few pastries we had purchased the night before! We found a taxi driver ( the taxi strike was over in one day) & he took us to the meeting place! He was really nice & spoke enough English so we arranged our ride to the airport for tomorrow morning with him! We had only been at the meeting place a few minutes when we saw our Australian friends! We decided to buy an all day pass on the hop on hop off bus so we could tour the city that way! Our first stop off the bus was park guell! This was a very unusual park built by Antonio Gaudi! Lots of curves & tiled mosaics made for some very unique pictures! As we left there we did a bit of souvenir shopping as we headed back to the bus! Hopped on again & rode until we came to the central meeting place of Barcelona (I think it was placa cantalunya)! We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe & then took more pictures of the fountains & statues on the square & hopped on the bus again for a tour around the other part of Barcelona! When we finished this part we rode back to our meeting place & had dinner at an Irish pub! We enjoyed a Great dinner with our friends & then said our goodbyes & hailed a taxi back to our hotel! We packed since we needed to be ready to go early tomorrow & turned in for the night! We sure wished we had had more time in Barcelona as we didn't get to see as much as we wanted however we are definitely ready to come home & see all our friends & family! Thanks for praying for us.
