Done so much since our last entry I don't know where to start....... Our last few days in Hong Kong.... We had to go to Disney Land I made Woody take me and we did have a great day although it was the smallest version of Disney ever and much to Andy's dissapointment Space Mountain was closed for a Halloween upgrade. On the last night in Hong Kong we took in the amazing view from Kowloon harbour of the laser light show of all Hong Kong's major buildings. From Hong Kong we then flew to Bangkok, we only just made it onto the flight, who new gate 70 could be so far away. Bangkok was great and we stayed at the Buddy lodge Ko San road, a real luxuary compared with the Chunking mansion HK!!!
The adapter for the camera charger was not working so unfortunately we missed out on some snaps of Bangkok. We have decided we will drop in at some point on the trip again. We took a Tuk Tuk to see some of the main Buddah temples as there was a Buddist holiday going on that day. We made a wish and lit a candle at a beautiful temple and met some great spirited Thai people. I loved the Tuk Tuk ride it was a right roller coaster!
After spending 3 days in the bars on Ko san we decided we needed a bit of a retreat by way of a week relaxing on the beaches of Ko Samet. We took a bus from Bangkok to Ban Phe were we got the boat across. Poor Woody had to carry my bag over for me I was not happy about the little plank across to the boat, trying to balence my way across and carry my bag was a big no go! Andy to the rescue he almost fell in trying to get all the bags over, whoops. When we got there we took a bone shaking ride over to Ao Phai on the East coast of Samet and checked into the 'last' or Lost resort!! Very basic no air con and no hot water and a few over friendly creepy crawlies!!! However it's really close to the beach and near a gorgeous restaurant called Sea Breeze which is cheap and cheerful with lantens and candle lit tables and big comfy cushions for you to relax back on.
The first few days were cloudy with some monsoons, when it rains it really pours! The last 2 days have been so hot and I burnt my ear and ankles, and Andy is a lovely shade of pink all over! Today has been our best so far. We hired out a quad bike and went around the whole 2 mile long island. We found some gorgeous little beaches and had a picnic with pankakes on the beach. We were filthy by the end of it, Samet is in need of some roads its dirt tracks all the way and with the recent monsoons you can only imagine the size and smell of the puddles we drove through. Another thing about Ko Samet is its full of dogs everywhere. We almost got on the wrong side of an angry b**** who was rather territorial and had to make a swift exit! Tomorrow we leave for Chang Mai.........
