Hello again!

Just thought I'd let you all know what I've been up to recently...

Uni's still going well - struggling slightly in one of my modules but I'm sure it will all be fine!

Went to a club on Thursday night and it was an interesting experience... Just above the dance floor was a stage which had several Transvestites doing a little show - was quite funny. Then after that it changed to breakdancers. Was a fun night all the same though.

Currently experiencing 5 days free from uni - its a national holiday of some sort so have already had friday off and then have monday off as well and no lectures on tuesday anyway.

Went wandering with Zoe on Friday round Palermo - went to the main square in this area called Plaza Serrano - had a tiny market in it but was surrounded by so many little cafes and boutique shops. Was very pretty and was nice weather too.

Then today me and paddy and the girls from Leeds went to a place called Tigre - is a 45 minute train journey away from Buenos Aires. Wasn't quite what we were expecting - had heard it was quite country esk but it wasn't really. More like a small town. But anyway although its within Argentina its surround by water so its like an island - went on a boat tour that went on a little too long... After 30mins I think we'd all had enough - went on for another hour. Then we went and got some lunch and had a wander round all the stalls that were there. There was also a theme park there but we didn't go to it... Think we might go back at some other point just to escape BA for a bit.

Was quite strange leaving/returning to BA by train - as you leave you realise how it really is in some ways still a developing country. As you get further out of the city centre you pass Shanty Towns and is just a small reminder about how nice it is where we are.

Think tomorrow we're going to a Sunday market in a place called Matatero. Is meant to be slightly less touristy with Gaunchos (like cowboys) doing performances on their horses and workshops in crafty things and music and then lots of other random stalls and other bits and bobs....

Then Monday I think me and Zoe are going to the Japonese Gardens and maybe its nice weather for a trip on a pedalo in Palermo park.

Also hoping to do some volunteering work whilst I'm here... Found a group called L.I.F.E out here which has some projects near to where I live so hopefully I'll meet up with them at some point too. Feel like i should do something constructive with my spare time whilst I'm here especailly as I have every Tuesday off.
