Day four – Chobe Nation Park
A 5:00 a.m start, to get up and out for our jeep safari in Chobe. One of the group didn’t wake up in time and despite us waiting half an hour for her she still didn’t make it. On safari the group was divided into two jeeps. We saw elephants, giraffe, hippos, dung beetles and eagles. The other group saw mostly the same as us with the addition of lions.
Rod collapsed again today and was taken to hospital for a checkup. The doctors think low blood pressure may be to blame. We’re just keeping an eye on him at the moment. One of the group, Rod, has fallen ill with heat exhaustion and been taken to hospital. I hope he’s ok.
We took a sunset cruise on the Chobe river. Saw lots of hippos and elephants, crocodile and monitor lizards. One of the elephants we saw was a baby and had been attacked by a lion. He was in a bad way, he could hardly walk, whilst we were watching his family abandoned him, it was really sad.
