We woke to a calm humid morning and were on the road at 7:45am heading to St. Petersburg FL. The road was two lanes and for the first hour we were heading east into the rising sun making it challenging to see and it was very hypnotic. We unfortunately had a scare. Bob dozed and we went four wheeling on the embankment. Someone was looking out after us. Bob got a handle on it and made a great recovery and we didn't even miss a beat, but our hearts were beating a mile a minute for a while. I took over driving and we continued on our way.
We stayed on Hwy 19/98 all the way down. No tolls and there was a CampingWorld along the way. This road is what we call a "milk run". (Stop and Go Traffic) However, the speed limit was 55mph in some places and locals used those opportunities to try out race each other to the next stoplight. They are crazy. Around Chrystal River, we stopped for lunch at Chili's. Then, continued on looking for the Camping World. While Barb and Walt waited on a side street, we stopped and got replacement thermostat for the water heater.
We arrived at the Madeira Beach/St. Petersburg KOA at approximately 3:30pm. Nice park. It is located next to an estuary with access to a bike trail that meanders through St. Petersburg all the way out to the coast. And of course, it had a swimming pool.
Liza and Andrew met us at the park and we followed them out to the beach and walked out the Boathouse Grill located at the Postcard Inn. Unfortunately, it started to rain so we couldn't eat outside, but the sunset was fantastic. We went inside for dinner and had a wonderful time catching up with Andrew's and Liza's crazy life.
Tomorrow, another day with friends and family in St. Petersburg.

d*** & marlo Great story, still like the battery story the best. Keep eyes on road and oh by the way "keep them open". Safe travels and keep the stories coming.
