Well what can i say after some really heavy partying, staying up late and non stop drinking at the beach house it was time to get on the road again. Off to mount St Helens, which for those of you who didnt pay attention to the news channels back in 1983 was the site of the last full blown volcanic erruption (pardon the pun) in the US. Anyway the place was amazing, as always we were riding Cate's rabbit on virtually empty roads. I swear there must have been a new series of "Prison Break" or something on the TV, over the 7 weeks we have been away as we never see another soul. Good for us though as it kind of feels like its your mountain, or lake, or whatever. Anyway back to the mountain. Absolutely brilliant, we watched a movie about the erruption at the visitor centre but nothing could prepare you for the devastation. A huge and I mean HUGE hole the size of Surrey (slight exageration) blown out the side of the mountain, with a blast zone felt 300 miles away. All the trees literally ripped in half and tossed down into the valley, along with avalanches, boiling hot mud slides, Black ash and enough flying elk and goats to start your own ARK. All in all a very eerie setting not to be forgotten.
