Ok, so I'm writing this blog after the fact, but it is really hard to get near a pc long enough when you're having so much fun!
Perth was great. It's a really beautiful city set on the estuary of the Swan river. Amazing beaches, interesting buildings, lots of culture but still has that sleepy town quality - not the crazy hecticness of European Cities.
I stayed with Gail and Tommy (old family friends) in the Swan Valley which is a gorgeous spot - full of vineyards and home industry places - nougat and chocolate being my favourtie funnily enough!) I went for a couple of jogs and a great cycle around the area and it was very moving - check out the pics.
I hung out with Nicole and her friends Chris, Ebo and Saisha on the Friday night in Perth and we splashed out on a swanky meal and cocktails at C's - a revolving restaurant at the top of one of the tallest buildings in Perth. The sunset was incredible and the company fun. We ended up drinking a little too much and laughing a lot at the fact that the floor was moving - glad we didn't work there.
I spent a day in Fremantle, Guildford, etc. so did some great sight seeing and got some fab pictures of the buildings in the area. It's actually really colonial and reminded me a lot of east mining rand towns in South Africa in the 70's. Weird how it's familiar but yet not.
Will definitely be back in Perth at some stage!
