Sabaidee!
After a few wonderfully long bus journey's, we're now in beautiful Laos and having a great time. We spent half a day in Vientiane and moved on to Vang Vieng which we fell in love with. Will try to put some photos up soon but it's just beautiful - a tiny town surrounded by mountains and great views from our GH. We had an amazing time here - spent a day tubing on the Mekong river, just chilling out with many a BeerLao in hand (BeerLao is amazing) and the only worry you had was deciding when to stop off for a refill - o it's a hard life ...! There were a few makeshift bars you could stop off at with rope swings and volleyball fun. Got some great footage of Kush swinging around.
There are lots of little restaurants with low tables and cushions where everyone could just relax during the day/night (could have been helped by the space pizza's and happy shakes on offer!) and for some reason, near enough all of them would show episodes of Friends continuously - so a no go if you're not a Friends fan!
We also rented out scooters for the day. Cat had her first spin in the driving seat and wasn't half bad - even managed a few gear changes, though it's takes far too much coordination for my liking - more practice needed! We would have looked pretty good too if we hadn't been given horse riding helmets - cool.
Now in Luang Probang and are here until Sunday when we fly to Hanoi. Bumped in to the Danish trio we met in Chiang Mai on our first night (scary stuff!) so was cool to catch up with them. Today we went Kayaking 25km (paying for it now) to see and swim in the Tad Sai waterfall. Needed to see it in the rainy season to see it in its full glory but still looked pretty impressive. We were in a 2 man Kayak and Cat being at the front nearly lost her battle with the rapids!
Tomorrow we're going to check out the famous Kiung Si waterfall, will let you know what we find!
Will update again soon, hope everyone is well and happy
Love Cat and Kush x
p.s. We know the pictures for this Laos journal entry are indeed not of Laos but it's making us choose one and we can't be arsed to argue!
