Today was a day for skiing; up in reasonable time to hit the slopes. After a token ski down the beginners slope, it was off to the 'easy' slope. After half a dozen runs with neither of us having a stack, the confidence was high. But the ankles were sore and Case had given her knee a bit of a twist, so by early afternoon we decided to call it quits for a while and head back to town for some lunch.
Lunch complete, Troy was feeling a bit cocky so he donned his gear and we headed up the First Bahn lift for the slopes we chickened out on on the first day. After picking out the easiest looking one, away he went, arriving at the bottom covered in snow and with a few bruises but a big grin on his face. We'd tackled the mountain! Spotting some deck chairs we decided to chill out for a while and admire the view. Spectacular.
After 3 days of skiing (and falling over!), it was time for a much needed massage at the hotel's 'wellness centre'. The chick that massaged Case mentioned a local pub that was owned by an Aussie guy, so massage complete we headed there for a cocktail and beer. The bar was called the Avocado Bar and was full of Aussie signs etc, including a set of Tassie number plates. After a few drinks we realised we must be getting old because we both wanted bed more than another drink, so we called it a night for our last night in luxury…
