Today was a big day. Up at 6:30 to shower, eat, pack and clean the motorhome before heading off at 9 to find a servo and a suitable place to drop our grey water then head to the depot to drop the beast off. We found a servo and filled up with LPG (we used 0.2 of a litre the whole trip so it cost us 15 pence!) and diesel.
Next job; find some grass on the side of the road to empty the grey water tank (water from the sink and shower only). As we got closer to the depot we spotted a car park which opened out one end to a field. Perfect. So Troy backed the beast up, wheels on the bitumen, grey water drain over the already very soggy grass, jumped out and opened the tank. Just in time for a very irate local 'lady' to storm around from the side of a nearby house and give her opinion on what we were doing. After arguing with her long enough that the tank was empty, Troy hopped back in the van and off we went!
With the motorhome safely back at the depot and the white glove inspection passed, we were off to the train station to head into London, hoping like hell that we'd have more success than our last attempt! Arriving at the station we were off to a shocker. Standing at the platform we realised we'd left our umbrella in the car, making it three umbrellas lost in just over a week! Then the train was delayed… but only by 20 minutes. We made it to St Pancras International with enough time for some lunch before clearing French customs and jumping on the Eurostar bound for Paris!
Boy does that train move! London to Paris in 2:15, so before we knew it we were standing in Gare du Nord train station looking for a cab to our hotel.
With the hotel found it was a cafe for tea before finding a corner store to buy some water on the way to the hotel. After chatting to the owner, Case decided to try out her French as we left, saying bonjour (hello) instead of merci (thank you)! Massive fail but a great laugh for the two of us and the two in the shop!
Now it's time for a scrub in a full size shower with unlimited hot water!
