It's non stop fun at the moment. Today I went paragliding for the first time ever with Roy, Mel and Jesse and loved it!!! The moment at which I realised I am to be strapped into the front of the harness and I am therefore the one that has to run at the cliff edge and hope we take off wasn't the best, but after my inital panic I do it and we take off way before I get to the edge.... Thank god as it's a long way down (1000m to be precise) and we are elevated at 3600m with a great view of the sacred valley below (so named due to the fertility of the land). It felt like you were flying and was so peaceful, but sadly all over in 1/2 hour and I was landing in a farmers field on my behind.
The journey back up to the top of the mountain was worse and our driver was a nutter, we also saw our porters from the Inca trail washing out our tents in the river, which was quite a random sight, bless them!
Mel is learning to paraglide solo in the IOW at a place called butterflies, so think I may be popping along there at some point soon for round 2 and maybe even a few solo jumps myself!!
That afternoon we chilled in the town, drinking beer and watching the world go by, one of my other favourite activities!!
