Hi people,
So, today has NOT been a good day and rather than feel bad about myself I'm just going to complain on here. Glad you don't mind.
So...
1. I should have known it was going to be a bad day when the person I didn't chose for president was elected, but whatever, I let it go because I'm sure things will be fine.
2. I was SO EXCITED because Jill and I planned a trip to POLAND this weekend to see AUSHWITZ and, I mean, that is kind of a big deal. Well... being the responsible people that we are we booked everything several weeks ago so that we were prepared. Which leads me into why this is listed as my #2 problem- Earlier today I received an E-mail from the company we booked through saying that for some "Unforeseen circumstances" our hotel had been cancelled. Ya, great, I know. Fortunately, the company was nice enough to find us another one (that is actually even slightly nicer) and covered the extra cost. We are now feeling better about this but are just upset that are "set in stone plans" have been disrupted. Which leads me to #3....
3. Hours later, I receive an email from the Airline we booked out flights through for this same trip to Poland. The email was sent to me saying that for some "UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES" (I officially absolutely hate that phrase) our flight returning from Poland to Italy has already been delayed. Typically this wouldn't be much of a problem but we are flying into Milan and catching a train from Milan to Florence. Now, since our flight is already delayed we will not be able to make our reservations for the train. Oh and there aren't any other trains leaving until the following morning because either they are all booked or there just aren't any running.
4. We went to our travel agent around the corner to gain some insight on what we should do and she was absolutely no help.
5. Jill and I searched for new flights to come home and the only one we could find for under 400 Euro a piece was one that flew from Poland to Paris and then Paris to Florence. So that is what we are doing and we just finished booking it. So now, my trip is much more expensive than I initially thought (which means I'm not going to have as much to spend when I visit the Outlet mall) AND I'm going to have to spend part of my Sunday sitting in an airport in Paris (incase you forgot, I really don't like that city and I already vowed I would never go back. Who would have thought I'd be back so soon?)
6. Oh, and just to add some icing on the cake... I began emailing the airport transfer company about our new departure time from Krakow to let them know we will need car at an earlier time.... and my computer died half way through the email.
So that has been my fabulous day. I hope everyone's has been slightly nicer than mine. I'm going to meet my friends for Mexican (thank god they have Mexican food in Italy!).
Ciao for now,
Carrie
