After spending 8 months studying in Bordeaux in the South West of France and having the freedom and opportunity to travel and explore a different country and culture, I had caught the travelling bug completely. Travelling around the world is something I have wanted to do since I was about 12 years old. So after spending the year abroad, I decided that spending the whole summer in the UK was not something I wanted to do. So I made the decision to go and live the American Dream, by participating in BUNAC's Work America programme. I spent the whole of January and February applying to all the jobs on BUNAC's Job Directory, I even had to have a few very awkward Skype interviews, until I eventually got offered a job working at Trimper's Rides in Ocean City, Maryland. So that was the job sorted, next was ensuring I had all the visa paperwork, which was difficult to organise, especially I was still in France. Eventually, I managed to get everything sorted and attended my US embassy interview 2 days after returning home from France. My visa was approved and returned just under 2 weeks later. So all the important stuff is sorted, now all that is left is to pack before flying to New York City!
