Written late aug 24th, for some reason it wouldn't post
Happy Birthday mom, I miss you tons.
Woke up thinking maybe I should skip my run after hearing the rain pouring down outside. But at last I put on my poncho and headed out the door leaving carla behind. The run felt great, lots of locals out cheering us on and kids giving high fives. Finished the 1/2 marathon in approx 2 1/2 hours. Not my all time best but an improvement on Chicago. The first part of the race was marked well but not the end. Didn't realize I was close to the finish line until I rounded the corner, than I gave her. Smiley carla was there to greet me for the finish and than treated me to breakfast at a cute little cafe " C is for cookie". Very yummie!

The rest of the afternoon was spent wondering around checking out the culture festival and finding a place for a beer. Than back for nap time. SWEET! Took us a while to drag our asses out but we eventually made it out to see the fire works. Our night on the town became a quiet night of chilling in our little apartment, such a cute place, gonna be sad to say goodbye tomorrow!
