BOOOOOOO ...... Gutted, slight change of plan and not rafting today .... At dinner last night, local restuarant, great food and really local environment I started feeling unwell - tired mostly but also a bit odd .... In fact the place we were in started looking like disneys version of africa (like being at a restuarant in epcot centre) weird, heat exaustion probably ... anyway I think the painting during the day got the better of me so it was off to bed and then i woke up this morning with a bloody cold ... I cant believe it of all things - I have drunk and eaten local and my stomach is (at the moment ... ahhh touch wood) made of steel but no ... I get a bloody cold .... SO I am back at camp (Allllll by my seeellllfff) LOL and catching up on admin and washing. Gutted i've missed it but I do get another chance later so trying not to be miserable!!! (I was also terrified if im honest - these are grade 5 and really no laughing matter and alot of people dont complete the course - ie they get out early rather than they die (dont mean to scare anyone lol)
So Im braving all the bugs alone today - Will go out into the village to get some chapatis for lunch soon - the chapati shack is next door to the billboard which warns all africans to avoid morning sex .... im still trying to work out why the morning??? .... ooo and no doubt I will return with at least 3 more beaded items of jewellery which seems to be the daily average for most of us any time we venture out in public LOL!!! In fact I now love beads (really i do) and im def embracing the local dress (ripped clothes covered in mud and a selection of beads)
Im determined to recuperate today, we are off to Kampala (capital of Uganda) tomorrow then on deeper into the jungle for gorilla trekking over the next few days and you cant go if you have a cold so Im double dropping the vitamin C and anything else I can get my hands on!!
Just updating - and laughing as after i wrote this crap about recuperating we hit the bar ... i vaguely remebering taking on the role of barman, blasting the ipod and getting a pretty eye opening game of "never never" going ... suffice to say we all got to know each other alot better that night - no more secrets and def over the fear of peeing along the truck in a row at the side of the road from here on out!!
