The world is my school and today I am going to teach you how to make silk by hand. The whole process starts with a silk worm. First the silk worms mate and lay eggs. After they grow up the silk worms start to make the silk. They weave a silk cocoon with rough silk on the outside and smooth silk on the inside. Once the silk worm is done the cocoon gets boiled to kill the worm inside of it. Then someone takes a stick and gets a string of silk and makes it in to a spool of silk. If they wanted to dye it they would use natural dye like trees and berries. The company we saw only sells the stuff they make in one shop. All the silk was beautiful and it was all made by hand. If you look on the tag of something and it says made by hand you can never really know if it is made by hand. But with this store you get to see were they make the products so you know that it was all made by hand. The weaving is done by hand by someone taking 3 strings of yarn and weaving them together. One string stays in place while the other two strings go up and down in between the one that stays still. That is how you use a loom to weave by hand.
Thank you and please comment.
