The girls experienced the most incredible singing, spirituality and energy of gospel singing today at the Thesselonian Church in the Bronx. Such an amazing opportunity and something they will remember for many years to come. The song "When The Saints Come Marching In" will arouse such special memories forever more. As if that wasn't enough, many of us were also fortunate enough to be spoilt with more amazing singing at the award winning musical "Once". Fantastic. The day was finished off after battling the enormous lines to view the New York skyline from the top of the Empire State Building. Some things you have to do as a tourist. A great place to get an overall view of one of the busiest cities in the world. An incredible day.
Claire and Alanah reporting from NYC yea yea!
The day started with a bit of gospel with the girls and supporters attending an authentic gospel service in the Bronx of New York. The atmosphere was incredible, as you felt welcome the second you stepped through the door. As we happened to arrive on multicultural day where we were able to perform two pieces from our Australian repetoir Kungala and Jilbamyn, we received a standing ovation and many thanks and congratulations from the congregation. For most girls this experience was a big highlight of the trip, the congregation really knew how to warm our hearts. After this amazing morning, cantabile enjoyed lunch on broadway and to top it off an incredible experience of choosing to see the Broadway musicals, Once or Wicked. Following this amazing day Cantabile finished with a tummy filling dinner at Gingers Cafe. This was then followed by a trip to the iconic Empire State Building. After such an incredible day the girls headed to the hotel to have an early evening. Claire and Alanah over and out !
