Today Diana and I woke up early, got ready for the day and then went down to the restaurant for breakfast. After breakfast we got on our bikes and headed straight to the bell tower in the main square. We got there at 9:30am when it opened and bought a ticket to climb to the top. We climbed 366 very steep and very narrow stairs that spiraled tightly to the top. Once at the top we had panoramic views of Brugge. We were still at the top 10am when the bells rang, it was really loud and good to see how it all works. We then headed down, got our bikes and then headed to the train station. As we saw all of Brugge yesterday we did a day trip to Ghent (another small town half and hour train ride away) and took our bikes. Once at Ghent we rode around on our bikes and looked at all the medieval castles, churches and buildings. We had lunch in a small cafe and then went to a cupcake shop. We saw most of the town in the morning so we made our way back to the train station at 2pm. Once we arrived back in Brugge we put a load of washing on and cleaned out and packed our bags ready to leave tomorrow morning. We then showered and got ready to go and spend our last night out together. We had dinner in the main square near the bell tower and then went to an ice creamery for dessert, then we went to a pub for a drink before heading home to bed. Photo is if the view from the top of the bell tower.
