28 Feb 2011 - Pasito Blanco,La Gran Canaria - A Little Respite
Pasito Blanco, Spain
The place I'm writing from tonight is called Pasito Blanco which means Gentle Small Step. I don't know why. But this place is totally different then the others. It is privately owned but welcomes visitors. Instead of shops all around the harbor, there are private homes.
There is only a tiny market. Nothing else. The actual town is nearby but you need a taxi. The Russians and I went to the beach which is right next to the marina and had a swim. The water wasn't that cold but very refreshing. They bath here European style, if you know what I mean!
So it was a comparatively relaxing day. But we have a 77 mile slug tomorrow and it's going to be another 10 hour sail. I'm not even sure where we are going but we will be too tired to do anything but eat and crash when we get there.
The WiFi access here cost 5 Euros for 24 hours but we'll be leaving early and I won't be able to write until I get access again and time.
