Before leaving Damascus we took Brenda to a garage to investigate the infernal squeaking, and get the oil pressure checked. The Damascus Toyota garage was an impressive marble affair, and the mechanics did a fine job of fixing the squeak and reassured us that the dashboard is faulty, not the oil pump.
