We just got back from our twelve hour tour!!! Sitting down to green tea to write you this blog...
We had a bit of jet lag this morning and didn't get to the Tsukiji Fish Market (the world's biggest fish market) for the tuna auction at 5am. We dodged carts, bikes and little trucks that whipped through the fish market. It puts real meaning to the word abunai!!! In the photos, you can see that we enjoyed a delicious sashimi brunch, even Pam (thanks to a lot of wasabi)!
A few other points of interest we wanted to bring up - some directed to our work colleagues who might be reading. Space efficiency is the name of the game, even at the gas stations. The photo we included shows the gas nozzle coming from the roof and you pulled it down to fill your tank. No center islands - you just shove those cars in the space and fill!
Speaking of shove, have we gone over how exciting the subway system is - we left a map of that and I almost took a video at one of the main transfer points but that would have been another life threatening event for today! We kept seeing folks wearing face masks - so we joined in by the vending machines which are all over the city selling hot and cold drinks (including a selection of beers), candy and ice cream, toiletries, and more...
We were able to make it home thanks to the Tokyo Tower (a cross between the Eiffel Tower and Golden Gate Bridge) and we gladly take all the help we can get!
Well, TTFN for now...more tomorrow!

Clarissa Sounds amazing. Shauna make Pam eat more fish! Hey can you bring more of those face masks I think we should try that trend on BART and see what happens. Also is Pam the tallest in the group?
anaB Re the shove, sometimes little people have the advantage, slipping through as it were. I know. When I arrived in Tokyo everyone was wearing those masks and I thought there had been an awful accident. Nice to know they've endured. I was in Tokyo the day the tower opened quite an occasion.
