We got up and it was pouring. We may have had the Yomiuri Giants-Yokohama Bay Stars baseball game cancelled, but we didn't want the same for our flight home. We jumped on the local train to Yokohama for the Narita Express (sounds like the polar express). It is a sweet way to travel and as you go, a map highlights the route completed.
We arrived at the airport and waited for the flight. They announced a delay due to a mechanical problem and we waited to take off. The pilot is hoping to get us in before the President arrives in San Francisco. We have waited an hour and now the sun is out. Maybe we can get a Mount Fuji sighting from air??? And we did, just barely, we added a zoom in that we got from our camera just as the sun was setting...worth the wait!
Looks like we are in an hour late - but we left Tokyo at 5pm on Wednesday and arrived San Francisco at 10am on Wednesday, so we went back in time. Shouldn't I feel younger? If only I brought work, I might have had the feeling of catching up...
We got our one custom form as we will push in as one family - we may have to fill out two federal tax forms, but we will be trying one at customs. After an initial officious reaction of us coming with one form, Agent Brown let us through. It helps to have family in the business.
Lastly, we will load up some final photos to the trip and it will be sayonara! What a wild adventure...
