After arriving in Prague yesterday, we dropped our bags off at our hostel, Sir Toby's and then headed out. Our goal was to see Prague Castle, but after a lot of wrong turns and an extra few hours, we had practically toured the entire city before we got to the castle. We were so exhausted when we got there, that we figured our room would be ready, so we turned around and headed back.
We made it back to the hostel and talked with our new roommates for a while, had a lovely little dinner of bread, cheese, some ham spread and wine), and then decided to take a nap. Our new friend Geoff had invited us to go out with him and some friends that night, but we napped so long he had to wake us up around 10:30! It's amazing that you can be so tired and not really realize the extent of it.
We went to a bar and Becky and I had our first shots of Absinthe. Strong stuff, lol. After that, we headed out to Charles Bridge. During the day, it's such a tourist trap. People are completely packed on it, walking shoulder to shoulder trying to weave through street vendors and other people. But at 2am, there was no one but us. You can't even imagine the difference it makes. That bridge became mystical, the perfect setting for our first night in this old city.
After that, we hit a beer garden. Sitting outside drinking, getting to know our new friends, was a lot of fun. By the end of the night, I was so tired that I probably fell asleep within ten seconds of falling into bed.
