...we get up, have breakfast and set off for an acclimatization hike to the nearby Cerro Bonete (5015 m asl).
...after some hard going through snow and ice (penitentes) fields we make it to 4900 m asl and get some rest. Seba pushes forward alone (we will need to talk about this later on - we need to make the summit as a team or turn back as a team)
...Seba is becoming quite annoying: leeching on our stuff without sharing his, bragging about his high mountain experience when in reality he brought a tent that's too weak for this weather, he didn't bring a thermos (he instead wrapped duct tape all over his Nalgene bottle and proudly said: Look, I made a thermos), he constantly vies for attention to the point of interrupting our conversations etc etc. ugh...
...we go down in a slight hailstorm and on the way down Piotr leads us into some frozen stream gully (because it looks interesting!), which makes for a fascinating but exhausting descent and a monster headache for me (plus one bent trekking pole).
...after another good dinner with the Polish group (they set off for the summit the day after) and one paracetamol I feel like a newborn and my symptoms are gone. I feel acclimatized for now!
...we make a plan to take some stuff to Camp 1 (5050 m asl) the day after and go down to sleep in base camp again
