Awww it was so nice hearing your voice again, we do miss you. The vineyard looked good, so do the beaches. Fancy being the only person on the bus, they can't be making much of a profit. Have you seen any of the road trains yet??
Well Chris is at Leeds, in the mud, though it didn't rain today. I did offer him your wellies as they're in the garage but he declined and bought his own.
Eve's planning her birthday. She's decided to share it with a couple of her mates. Looks like I'm having a load sleepover again, but this time there's some boys so they will be in a tent in the garden. I shall sleep with my window open. They know what you look like as well, so all I need do is remind them that you're coming back.
I will put your books on amazon this weekend and then the money will go straight into your bank account. I'll let you know how much.
I still have no idea what you'll be doing as part of the conservation project, kangaroo fencing, ditch digging??
So you've not met any nice girls called Sheila yet??
love you

Well well Burton! Chris has mentioned your exploits a couple of times in the Beech Tree and now your mum has given me the address to this site.... you lucky jammy thing!! Just remember all those late Saturdays b****ing about the world; overnight bus journeys will seem bliss! Anyway, have heard a juicy rumour that Hodgeson is leaving 107, don't spill your beer cheering, but alas it came too late for us poor souls. Not to surface bad memories for you but you know how much us admin guys loved spreading the gossip, even across the water now!! I'm not going to comment about any of the pictures or repeat what I thought when I saw them but Al, you looked a bit too comfortable with those ladies! Have a fab time and make a point about calling them flip flops, them Ozzys think they rule

G'day my son,
How's you now you're down under. Can't believe you're in Oz now. Looked on your itinery and you're in Corrs Bay today. I'm off this week, so it's been raining, more like autumn than summer at the moment. Is this the bit of your journey where you do the Oz equivalent of the greyhound bus or am I old and confused again??? Or is it the conservation project. My god watch out for those snakes, lizards and man eating mossies.... never know what you may come across in the bush?? skippy for instance?? had an ostrich or kangaroo burgers yet??
Miss you

Hi Al
My goodness, you did look happy with those nice ladyboyz lol. I heard your sisters laughing when they looked at your pictures, now I know why. Yes , do remember your sister, the younger, reads these pages. Glad you're having a good time, don't think you'll want to come back in a hurry. Oz next, wish we were coming with you. Bought a lottery ticket today, if we win enough we'll come meet you. I hope youthought about me in Singapore, obviously lot different to when I was there but you can understand why I'd like to do the Far East again before I'm too old to enjoy it. Was wondering if you'd been watching the opening ceremony at the Olympics - pretty amazing.
Love you

Hello my darling,
Thought about you at tea tonight. I made a baked alaska - it was reet good, so I will make you one on your return. No new picis so you must be busy or not at an internet cafe. Not long now and you'll be in Singapore. Wish I was with you.
I'm off the end of this week and beginning of next. Busy cleaning carpets at the moment. Your dear sister, the younger, left a bag with mozerella and yeast in her wardrobe. I had no idea what on earth the pong was as it was a bit like sweaty socks. Anyway, after a rant she cleaned it out and found the offending bag of leftovers from cookery. She put the bag on the hall carpet and it leaked. The smell was horrible. It's taken a week, a gallon of febreeze and the carpet cleaned to get rid of it. Needless to say she was in the dog house.
Love you

Hello my wonderful son,
Guess who got a postcard??? Me and your sis. One with a temple on it, so the post does work.
I'm sat waiting for Eve and her mates to appear. They've gone to another Minster rave up. About 10 of them. They were all sat in the garden earlier, think the neighbours had a fit, but they're good kids. The theme tonight is "beach", so they are all inappropriately dressed. Last week she was at a party in the rugby club for her mate who's emigrating to Oz. They had a picnic on the Westwood on Thursday but not your sarnie and a bottle of pop type picnic - no she made a pizza, her mate made garlic bread, another did chicken satay sticks, one of the boys made a cake, another chocolate krispies. She told me she was too stuffed for a big tea. She has a far better social life then me!!!
You seem to be having a good time, glad the 1st aid kit has come in handy. You know your mother. Have you been bitten much?? I can't remember if you took a mossy net. Glad you had all your jabs, don't think I'd have got too close to the monkeys. I'd be scared they made a grab for you and you couldn't shake them off - I know I've seen one film too many.
So have you bought a new watch or any gadgets in Thailand???
Love you
Mum xx
For once it's been very warm, should have been my day off but I was training - suicide interventions skills - just what you need on one of the warmest days of the year. By the time I got home the sun had gone.
