Craig & Jills Round the World Trip
On Saturday we spent the morning at a thermal reserve. Here we got to see lots of bubbling mud, which we found amusing especially the noises, blup blup. Also lots of steam escaping from the ground which wasnt as pleasant as it stinks of sulphur(rotten eggs). There was also a huge geyser as shown on the picture, and this is where boiling water spurts out of the ground. We also got to see a traditional Maori show, lots of funny shouting and sticking out of tongues, just like the all blacks. The park had a Kiwi house, however they are not 12ft tall like Craig kept telling me!
In the afternoon we went to a trout farm, not for the trout though it was to see 2 lion cubs. The park promised you owuld be able to pat them, so we thought we'd give it a go. When we got in we were amazed to see that you were able to go inside there habitat with them. We then spent nearly an hour watching them running round and playing. They were brother and sister, 3 months old, and so adorable. Every now and then they would jump on you from behind. However although they look cute the keeper assured us that there teeth could do some damage! We dragged oursleves away to go and see the rest of the park, which consisted of some Trout, pigs and a few birds, and of course adult lions. We decided to go back and see the cubs before we left. Luckily it was the end of the day and not many tourists left so we got to spend another hour playing with the cubs. We literally had them jumping all over us and sat on our knee. However one took too much of a shine to me and decided to try and take a chunk out of my back! Luckily only playing so no teethmarks, however it made us and the keeper jump!
