We decided to get the ferry to Langkawi a day earlier than planned as we felt we had done everything we could in George Town. The boat left George Town at 8.30 am so early start for us. Masa was heading back to KL today to sort out her visa for Thailand. Sarah and I were being joined by Rachel and Tommy on our journey to Langkawi. The boat journey took 3 hours. We were already tired by the time we got to Langkawi so we headed to a Starbucks in the Jetty Port to just chill for a bit. I bought my Malaysia Starbucks mug to add to my collection. The Starbucks red cups for Christmas are in so we all had a Christmassy drink. I had my fav, mint hot chocolate. I managed to get my Ray Ban sunnies tightened in one of the classes shops which was ideal as I hadn't been able to use them. I bought a big bar of cadburys chocolate but was sorely disappointed as it tasted like cardboard. I forgot that cadburys isn't the same out here. We got in a taxi together and headed to Pantai Chenang to find a hostel. The hostel we were looking for recommended by Lonely Planet was miles from the beach front so we did our own search and found a place called 'AB motel' right on the beach front. We got a two double bedded room for the four of us and it worked out to be £7 a night each. We went along the strip of shops and found an English tea rooms, so went there for lunch. It wasn't like the typical English tea rooms at home but they tried at least. After, we did a bit of looking around the shops as the whole Island is Duty free, but it's all still a little bit on the pricey side. We found a little spa and salon so Sarah and I booked an appointment for a manicure and pedicure. We had another little look around the shops then headed back to the hostel for a shower, and then made our way back to the salon. They took two hours to do our pedicure and manicure each. I would say it was the best I've ever had. Rachel and Tommy met us at the salon after we were finished and we headed for dinner on the beach at a restaurant called the 'Yellow cafe'. It was so cute. The tables were on the beach front with gorgeous little candles. We had cocktails and shared pizzas. We chatted for hours and then made our way back to the motel for a good nights sleep. It was the first time I thought it might be a good idea to use the silk sleeping liner mum bought me as the covers looked minging, I didn't trust them. Although we didn't do much today, I really enjoyed it and was looking forward to a good few days here.
