I woke and had breakfast, decent bread, butter and jam, I'd missed that. I took the morning to wash the rest of my clothes and pack my rucksack up ready to leave the following morning. I started to get rid of some of my clothes. I was coming to the final part of my trip now, there was stuff I didn't need. I caught a taxi to the MTR station and from there, to Kowloon, the old part of Hong Kong. Dan and Sas had recommended I go there to get a sense of the original Chinese culture. I started at the Flower Market, there were lots of different stalls selling all kinds of flowers, it was quite interesting to see. I bought Sas an Orchid as a gift to say thank you for having me. It wasn't much but I just wanted to give something at least. I then walked down towards the ferry port to catch the Star Ferry across to Central. I could see the city sky line of both Kowloon and Central HK from there, it was awesome to see. At the other side, I saw a Starbucks so went in to buy my Hong Kong mug...only one more to add to my collection after. I walked to the IFC mall and looked around for a bit. I FaceTimed my mum who was at the gym, I told her how much I was loving HK and that I wanted something to remind me off it. I had had my eye on a Tiffany necklace for a while so mum told me to go ahead and get it and it would be an early Christmas present. I was so grateful! What a great sentimental way to remember my time in HK. It felt amazing to buy it, I absolutely loved it! I couldn't wait to put it on.
I had arranged to meet Dan at around 6 pm so we could all meet and go for a final meal out together. I still needed to get Dan's gift but was running out of time. I text Dan to tell him I would be at his office in 20-30 minutes as I though I knew where I was. I saw an M&S and bought him a nice red wine, the one my dad drinks so I thought it must be good! It turned out that I actually had no idea where I was in relation to his office. I recognised the area and in my head thought it was around the corner to Queens Road where his office was, but after asking someone for directions, it turned out it wasn't. In fact it was 30 minutes away on the MTR and then 15 minutes walk at least! I started to panic as yet again I was going to make them late. I ran to the MTR and fought my way onto a tube as of course now, it was rush hour! I finally got to Queens Road and walked along it to look for number 80. I must have been in such a fluster as I managed to walk pasted it up and down three times! Eventually I got in the lift and up to the 19th floor. Fortunately for me, Dan was still working and needed another 15 minutes. So I hadn't made him late again. He asked if I wanted him to send my Malaysia and Hong Kong mugs back to the UK for me. It would save me having to lug them back to Thailand so I agreed and he kindly sorted it all out for me from his office! I was glad I'd bought them a present and card, they just could do enough for me!
Once Dan had finished, we walked to a restaurant called Pawn, which used to be an old Pawn shop, we had a drink while we waited for Sas. Once she arrived, we headed upstairs to the dining area. The restaurant was so posh! I have Dan and Sas their presents which they seemed over the moon with, that made me happy. I had such a nice meal, steak burger, salad and chips, I was going to miss this! How was I ever going to get use to thailand again! I'd got use to this sort of lifestyle again, and as sad as it is, I'd missed it! Going to Thailand made me appreciate what I have and realise my life at home is awesome! I couldn't live the life of a traveller to too much longer, packing up and moving from place to place every few days, it was tiring!
After the meal, we caught the MTR back to Hang Hoi and then drive back to the house for an nearly night. Dan had already booked a taxi me in the morning so I was sorted and ready to go! I didn't have enough cash for the taxi so they gave me more dollars and some extra for the airport! I couldn't get over their generosity considering I had just turned up on their doorstep, they had treated me like royalty! Sas told me that I was family and of course that's what they would do, but still, I was really grateful!
