We had the morning to chill, I had a lie in and out my rucksack in the wash as it was still plastered in clay from the rock climb on Railay beach. We got ready and headed to Gareth and Sophie's place for 1.30 pm for Thanks giving lunch. Their house was amazing! It was a family home but ultra modern, I loved it! They cracked open the Prosecco and snacks, I was in heaven! I missed having family and friends gatherings at home, lots of banter and laughing, I really appreciated how welcoming they had been to me. There was about 20 odd people there, couples and their children and I managed to get to speak to all of them which was nice. The Thanksgiving meal was amazing. Everything we had we something I hadn't had before. Mash potato with some sort of delicious seasoning, runner beans with mushrooms and nuts, homemade cranberry sauce... I could go on and on! I had two platefuls, I wanted to make the most of it because I would soon be back in Thailand, back to toasties and chips everyday! Dessert was even better. Homemade apple pie by Dan, which he spent two hours that morning making from scratch, with custard and ice cream. Also, it can't be thanksgiving without a traditional pumpkin pie. That was also delicious! We all sat and chatted for a few hours while our food went down then at around 6 pm, Sas wanted to go as they had work early the next morning. I was falling asleep on the journey back to the house, a full stomach and a warm environment always gets me. I was glad for another early night in my comfortable double bed all to myself!
