Wow! Well yes I am still alive and since I last posted a blog for all of you little gossip fiends I have been up, down, around and just about everywhere my little yet perfectly formed legs have been able to take me! I have been up to so much that it would be difficult to fit all of my tales into one blog (also I know that most of you have the attention span of a small goat ), so I've put 5 hours worth of internet time on the computer and am going to update you in small doses - therefore creating the effect of a few short stories and enabling you all to read, laugh and cry at your own pace (I also know that some of you don't read real good....and I will be speaking to your parents about that at the next parents meeting - yes I haven't forgotten about it!).
Right, so where to begin? That is the question, and seeing as none of you know the answer I'm going to begin where I left off......
My last blog I believe ended with my Birthday - and what a day it was! But so much has happened since! To start with the others have left us so now it's just me and Loz in a flat on our own, but I’ll come to that in a later blog. So Alf has gone off to New Zealand with a friend of his and then he's off to Thailand and China on his way back to rain ridden Blighty (yes, I have heard all about the floodings on the news and the bad weather that you're all currently experiencing.....and I nearly shed a tear for all of you back home, but then I didn't. You see if you had all decided to do what I did then you'd be sitting in sunshine every day with a woo woo in hand!!!). Also Sare and Dan have popped over to Perth for a bit too, and then they're onto NZ and Thailand before they return.....so we really are on our own!!! Emily (Laurens cousin) came back over for a couple of weeks which was fun, but she's now gone off with her boyfriend to Perth too, to meet up with Dan and Sare. So that's the update with where everybody is and I'm sure you couldn't give a toss, because you don't know any of them, so I'll quit my Jibber Jabbering on and get to the bloody story!
So, me and Loz decided that we should really sort all of our flights and itinerary of where we want to go out as it' only 8 weeks before we start the real travelling again! We plucked up the courage after a night in, a bottle of wine, and a lot of booklets telling us where we should go and what we should see. We set out to the mall with our itinerary in hand so we could go to the travel agents and book our flights.
We went into the travel agents and spoke to a very nice man called Peter about what we wanted to do and when we want to do it. I must say at this point that Peter is the most helpful travel agent I have ever met and if any of you are thinking of going to a travel agent, get a flight out here and go to Warringa Mall and ask for Peter - he'll sort you out (just say his old pal Ryan sent you). I must also state at this point that Peter has a ridiculously large forehead and it is extremely difficult to listen to a man that knows what he's talking about when the biggest SPAM in the world is staring you in the face!!! Needless to say a few sissy school girl laughs were exchanged between me and Loz as he was rambling on about what the best deals around are!
So after a fairly stressful session at the travel agents we managed to book all of our flights and we now have a return date to the UK........
6.00AM IN THE MORNING ON CHRISTMAS BLOODY DAY!!!!!!
A few tears were shed from Loz as we discovered this was the earliest day we could return on, but after a long chat we decided it could be quite fun arriving home to an abundance of presents (wink wink), so it's all good. We are now spending about 8 2 months in Thailand as opposed to our original plan of about 2 days! So expect me to come home with a Thai wife called Ping Pong and Loz to be holding a little Thai boy in her arms when you see us at the airport!!!
After this little debarcle we settled into the new flat, which was 5 stairs up and 1 door across from our old flat - we were promised a different location, but Mike the Pike (our landlord) decided at the last minute to keep us in the same building. This flat was pretty much the same as the last one, but it had carpets, had the decor of an 1800's morgue and had a hot water tank the size of a Rat's nostril - which helped when we have 3 or four of us all needing a shower at the same time!!!
Anyway, we had a few nights with in Emily and a few friends to try and save money, so opted for a few goons and a pack of cards (a goon is an unbelievably cheap box of wine that isn't too bad, however it states on the side of the box that there "may contain traces of fish, milk and egg products!!!!). So as you will be able to see from the videos of the night it was a goodun and the old "spinning round the umbrella" game never grows old!!!
Then Me and Loz had to start sorting a flat out for our return from the East Coast trip that we were about to embark on. It took a few days and a few dingy flats and shared houses for us to find one that we wanted to stay in, but we managed to find it in the end - it was a beautiful place that had stunning views and good facilities.......the only problem with it was that it was owned by the freakiest couple in the world! However we decided to take them up on the offer and just bolt the doors heavily and never pick up the phone to them :)
So that pretty much brings us up to the next part of the trip where a couple of our friends come over from the UK and we travel up the East coast with them for a couple of weeks. Thanks again for listening class and be sure to check out the next log of the coast.......
AND REMEMBER IT'S PARENTS WEEK NEXT WEEK, SO REMEMBER TO TELL YOUR PARENTS AND LAWRENCE, WE WILL BE CALLING YOURS AS YOU ALWAYS MANAGE TO BOOK THEM IN FOR 12.00PM APPOINTMENT FOR SOME REASON!!!
Muchos Lovos Senhors e Senhoritas
