Today we went to Maria Island. I got up at seven o'clock and then we travelled to Triabunna to catch the ferry. We had breakfast at Triabunna and Dad got some lunch for the day. We caught the ferry and it took the best part of an hour to get to Maria Island. After collecting our bikes we set of towards the fossil cliffs. The fossils cliffs were incredible. They were estimated to be 16m thick and were used to make cement in the 1920's. There were some well preserved fossils and I couldn't believe how many billions of fossils there was. After looking at the fossils we rode our bikes up to the convict built dam, that provides water for Darlington. After having a snack on the dam wall we rode of to the painted cliffs. We got there just as it started raining. We waited under a tree until the rain passed and then had a look a the cliffs. They were very nice and I found some nice shells. After having lunch we decided to tackle the bishop and clerk walk. We rode as far as we could until it got to steep to go any futher. We started walking at a fast pace because we had to get back in time for the ferry. At first it was okay walking but it got very steep and rocky. We had to be very careful not to fall. We finally got to the top and it was worth the hard climb. We started down and smashed our deadline. We got back on the ferry and we saw some dolphins. We drove back to our apartments and had dinner to at a nice old bank. Freycinet National Park and Sea Kayaking tomorrow!
