Day 22: Flight back to Bangkok.

Got up at 7 and got ready. Our taxi was booked for 8.30 but it still wasnt there by 8.50. luckily a man had just dropped some girls off and asked where we were going and what time. He said he would take us to the airport so we werent late for check-in so we got into a minibus to ourselves which had massive seats and was pretty nice. got to the airport in about 20 mins then checked in and waited around for a bit. We departed 10.45 and landed 11.25 so the flight wasn't long atall...it took 14 hours to get to Chiang Mai and 45 mins to get back aha. Got a taxi back to the Wild Orchid hotel (where we stayed in the 1st week) and got a room and dumped our stuff. As we were walking down the stairs we heard someone call our names and it was Rob from the thaintro group! He was with his brother and 2 friends so we sat and talked for as while then set off to find some more palace pants. on the way i stepped in a puddle and got mud and water all over my feet and legs and a woman staarted laughing and took us to a hose to wash it off. She then took us to see an emerald Buddha in a temple and told us a good place to go shopping. She got us a tuktuk for 50baht so we went to a souvineer shop and then a market which had hundreds and hundreds of food stalls. never seen so much fruit and meat at a market before! We found a shop that sold palace pants and a shop that sold cheap printed fabric so got some of that for the scrapbook and whatever else it might be useful for...maybe a cushion or blanket or something. got a tuktuk back to Koh San Road and the traffic was really bad so it took a while. Walked back past the stalls and bought some tops and palace pants and a cool picture. Figured out we were walking the wrong way so turned around and went back to the hotel. Hazel is currently having a nap and i'm on the internet. Later we are going for a pampering session...thai massage, foot spa, foot massage, manicure and pedicure...all for about 12pounds! Our taxi is picking us up at 5.50 am in the morning tomorrow so will have an early night.

We have 19 hours of travelling to do tomorrow! Not sure if we will be jetlagged...might just sleep the whole way back like the way there. we will get home at about 8pm English time but in Thai time it will be 2/3am (still not sure if its 6 or 7 hours ahead). Looking forward to seeing everyone again and looking at all of the photos! These 3 weeks have gone so quickly but feels like we've been out here for months the amount of stuff we've crammed in. Havent actually had a day to relax apart from the day we went shopping in Phuket...but we were still on the go all day! Will be having a holiday from the holiday when we get back i think :)
