Oh Chloe if only you could see me now!! You would be so proud!! I have been the ultimate tourist minus bum bag really!! But I'll start at the start!!!
Wednesday 2rd July-Thursday 3rd July: I left Perth which now it seems like a long time ago due to the marathon flight that stuffed me up good. The first flight was good but the stopover in Brunei not so. Really-not much to do so with Steph (whos Mum I worked with) and Mel we managed to time waste through the day we had there doing not much and sticking out great! The next 2 flights-8 hrs and 7 hrs were killers!! I have trouble keeping occupied at the best of times but stuck in a seat with not even our tvs working properly was hell!! With about 3 hrs sleep on bits and pieces we finally made it into London Heathrow at 6 am!!
Friday 4th July: We managed to miss the whol scale of Heathrow and from the bit I saw it didnt seem much bigger than Perth International which was disappointing. We worked our way to the Tube and worked out where to go, which station etc. Within that trip I became a Tube fan-I love it! For something that looks so complicated its so easy to work around and so convenient. I said goodbye to Steph and Mel, who had helped keep me company from Brunei, and continued my journey to Hendon Central to drop my way too heavy bag off so I could go explore. With that I jumped back on the Tube with no map and no real idea where I was heading. When it got to London Bridge I jumped off seeing it sounded familiar. I was so disoriented I had no idea which way the Thames was an instead found the most amazing food markets (clo again thought of you-lots of vegan crap :p). Jumped back on the Tube to Trafalgar Square and my inner tourist came out (actually lets be honest its not that hidden). I then joined the Bus tour which meant sitting on a double decker bus as they drove past all the major London sites which was all about my body could handle :p Came back to the hostel for a nap at 5pm and woke up at 11pm thinking it was morning :p Went back to sleep and woke at 7.30am. So with 14 hrs sleep-i missed out on the worst of jet lag!!
Saturday 5th July: Tourist Marathon Day!! Got the tube to Westminster and jumped on a cruise down to the Tower. Into the Tower for a guided tour which was facinating-i am a history nerd!! Then wandered around, seeing the Crown Jewels, ravens etc. Then I left walking along the Thames, across the Millenium Bridge to the Globe Thearte. But the tours werent on because some play was on which was a shame coz I really wanted to see th inside. I continued down the Thames, and getting shock, horror, HOT!! I was now wearing a singlet top and jeans (keeping with the tourist thing-with sneakers!! and Clos farmer top so I looked well indie :P). I walked past the London Eye (I'll do it later, way too many people!!). Over Westminster Bridge to Parliament, Westminster Abbey and keeping up the walk to Buckingham Palace. All seen and photographed I decided to head back to Hendon and home for one more night.
