Today I had my first Arabic lesson.Kemi showed me how to get the bus and gave me some change, since I still only had large Moroccan bills.I must have looked quite conspicuous on the bus, because a guy from Arkansas came over and started talking to me.He was very kind and helped me find my stop. The Arabic lessons are three hours each day from 9 to 12 and it seems like so much information! For the first day we got through the first group of 5 letters of the alphabet and all the vowels, I felt like my head was about to explode. One of the strangest things is trying to get used to writing and reading from right to left instead of left to right. After the lesson, I went to buy more credit for my new Moroccan cell phone, and the man at the store asked for my number! He said he wanted to go out for coffee. It was so funny!Next I found the bus stop and headed back to the house for lunch.I worked on studying my Arabic for a while and then Suzanne took me to a little café for juice. The juice here is so fresh and delicious!I laughed because the whole time we were at the café they were playing the Beatles and Bon Jovi on the radio J It was a wonderful little café and it had amazing looking treats, so I am sure I will have to go back. She also showed me a good Internet café, a wonderful little bookshop, and helped me find a little paper shop with index cards so I could make flashcards for my Arabic. When Kemi got home we went with her mother and brother to the MegaMall and went bowling!I think that there is something different about the bowling lanes here or something because I actually did not embarrass myself as much as I usually do and got in second place!!!Afterwards we went back across town and ate dinner in a little restaurant near the Projects Abroad office. We had the most delicious hummus I have ever had and I had something that I do not remember how to spell but it was wonderfully seasoned chicken wrapped in pita bread with a yummy mayonnaise like sauce and French fries and all washed down with some orange fanta.I was amazing! It was late by the time we finished so we all piled back into taxis and went home for a relaxing remainder of the evening.
